Gemstone Warmth

This is one of those teeny weeny pieces you throw around your neck when you want just so much warmth, but not necessarily be hauling around a scarf that reaches down to your waist! It makes on scraps of yarn and it works up really fast! I made it in one sitting because I happen to have the time, but you can make it in two sittings! This scarfie will work out really well in worsted weight yarn but you can make it in a bulkier weight if you prefer.
Skill- Relatively easy.
Size- Approximately, 5 1/2" W x 21" L
Materials:
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Amethyst
Button of your choice
Sewing needle
Sewing thread
Scissors
Blunt needle (to weave in tails)
Crochet hook size H

With Amethyst, ch 55.
Row 1- 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hk and in each ch across. Ch 2, turn. (54 hdc)
Row 2- 1 hdc in each hdc across. Ch 2, turn. (54 hdc)
Row 3 to 11- 1 hdc in each hdc across. Ch 1, turn. (54 hdc)
Working on narrow end of scarflet:
Row 12- Work 16 sc across narrow edge. Ch 4, turn. (16 sc)
Rows 13 to 14- 1 sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Row 15- 1 sc in each of 1st 6sc, ch 3, skip 3 sc, 1 sc in each of last 7 sc (buttonhole made.) Ch 1, turn.
Row 16- 1 sc in each sc and in each ch across. (16 sc) Ch 4, turn.
Row 17- 1 tr in each sc across. Ch 4, turn. (16 sc)
Row 18- 1 tr in 2nd tr of row (ch 4 stands for first tr of row), ch 3, skip 1 tr, 1 sc in each of next 2 tr, ch 3, skip 1 tr, 1 tr in each of next 2 tr, ch 3, skip 1 tr, 1 sc in each of next 2 tr, ch 3, skip 1 tr, 1 tr in each of next 2 tr, ch 3, skip 1 tr, 1 sc in last re. Ch 5, turn.
Row 19- 1 tr in each of first 2 tr, ch 4, 1 sc in each of next 2 sc, ch 4, 1 tr in each of next 2 tr, ch 4, 1 sc in each of next 2 sc, ch 4, 1 tr in each of last 2 tr. Ch 4, turn.
Row 20- 1 tr in same spot as ch 4, ch 2, 2 tr in next tr, ch 2, 2 tr in next tr, ch 2, 1 dc in each of next 2 sc, ch 2, 2 tr in next tr, ch 2, 2 tr in next tr, ch 2, 1 dc in each of next 2 sc, ch 2, 2 tr in next tr, ch 2, 2 tr in next tr, ch 2, sl st in top of turning ch. Fasten off.
Opposite Narrow End- Join Yarn. Row 1- Work 16 sc across narrow end. Ch 1, turn.
Row 2- 1 sc in each sc across. (16 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 3 to 6- 1 sc in each sc across. Ch 4, turn. (16 sc)
Row 7- 1 tr in each sc across. (16 tr) Ch 4, turn.
Rows 8 to 10- Rep rows 18, 19 and 20 of opposite end. Fasten off, weave in tails.
Sew on button of your choice to correspond with buttonhole.
