The looks of this pretty but easy cowl change as you turn it around on your neck, depending on which lacy block you choose to show at the time. It is composed of 3 different lace blocks and 3 solid blocks of stitches, and according to the spot of lace you choose to bring to the front, your cowl changes. It is super easy and fast to make and really fun to wear!

Size- 31 inches around (circumference); 16' L x 6" W.
Skill- Moderately easy

Materials-
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Gold (1 skein)
Crochet hook size H
Scissors
Blunt needle to weave in tails



With Gold and H hook, ch 28, loosely.
Row 1- (Consider this first row the right side) Work 2 dc in fifth ch from hook, ch 1, 2 dc in next ch, ch 1, *skip next 3 chs, 2 dc in next ch, ch 1, 2 dc in next ch, ch 1, rep from * across, end row as follows:
skip 2 chs, 1 dc in last ch. Ch 3, turn.
Row 2- 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in first ch-sp in the center for first shell of row, ch 1, *2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, rep from * across, 1 dc in top of turning ch. Ch 3, turn.
Row 3- 1 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in ch-1 sp of first shell, ch 1, *1 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in ch-1 sp of next shell, ch 1, rep from * across, 1 dc in top of turning ch. Ch 1, turn.
Row 4- Rep row 2. Ch 3, turn.
Row 5- Rep row 2. Ch 3, turn.
Row 6- 1 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in center ch-1 sp of first shell, ch 1, *1 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1, rep from * across, 1 dc in top of turning ch. Ch 3, turn.
Row 7- Rep row 2. Ch 3, turn.
Row 8- Rep row 2. Ch 3, turn.
Row 9- Rep row 3. Ch 3, turn.
Row 10- Rep row 2. Ch 3, turn.
Row 11- Counting first ch 3 as first dc, and skipping every ch 1 across, work 1 dc in every dc of row. (22 dc) Ch 3, turn.
Row 12- 1 dc in each dc across. (22 dc) Ch 3, turn.
Rows 13 to 19- Rep row 12. (22 sc) Ch 3, turn.
Row 20- 1 dc in each dc across. (22 dc) Ch 3, turn.
Row 21- Counting ch 3 as first dc, work 1 dc in each of next 4 dc, ch 1, skip 2 sts, 3 dc, ch 2, 1 dc in next st, ch 1, skip 2 sts, 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, ch 1, skip 2 sts, ch 1, skip 2 sts, 3 dc, ch 2, 1 dc in next st, ch 1, skip 2 sts, 1 dc in each dc till end of row. Ch 3, turn.
Rows 22 to 30- Rep row 21. Ch 3, turn.
Row 31- 1 dc in each of next 4 dc, skip ch st, 1 dc in each of next 5 sts, skip ch, 1 dc in each of next 2 dc, skip ch, 1 dc in each of next 5 sts, skip ch, 1 dc in each of last 5 sts. (22 dc) Ch 3, turn.
Row 32- 1 dc in each dc across. (22 dc) Ch 3, turn.
Rows 33 to 40- Rep row 32. (22 dc) Ch 3, turn.
Row 41- 1 dc in each of next 4 dc, ch 2, skip 2 sts, 1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc in next st, (V St), ch 1, skip 2 dc, 1 dc in each of next 2 dc, ch 1, skip 2 dc, V St in next dc, ch 1, skip 2 dc, 1 dc in each dc till end of row. Ch 3, turn.


Row 42- 1 dc in each of next 4 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in ch sp of first V St, ch 1, work V St in between the next 2 dc (as if there was a ch-1 space between them), ch 1, 3 dc in ch sp of next V St, ch 1, 1 dc in each dc till end of row. Ch 3, turn.
Row 43- 1 dc in each of next 4 dc, ch 1, skip next dc, 1 V St in next dc, skip next dc, ch 1, 2 dc in center ch sp of next V T, ch 1, skip next dc, 1 V St in next dc, skip next dc, ch 1, 1 dc in each st till end of row. Ch 3, turn.
Row 44- Rep row 42. Ch 3, turn.
Row 45- Rep row 43. Ch 3, turn.
Rows 46 to 50- Alternate rows 42 and 43. Ch 3, turn.
Row 51- Work 22 dc across row. (22 dc) Ch 3, turn.
Rows 52 to 59- 1 dc in each dc across. (22 dc) Ch 3, turn.
Row 60- 1 dc in each dc across. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with. Weave beginning tail.

Sew both ends of cowl together, fasten off, weave in tail.
