3-Dc Shell Stitch

I love shell stitches, they are beautiful and feminine. This one is very easy to make and it would make a cozy and pretty scarf or cowl, among many other projects.

Materials- I used a worsted weight yarn and crochet hook size H.

(Multiple of 4 chs)

Ch 28 loosely.

Row 1 (Right side)- Dc in 4th chain from hook, skip next ch, sc in next ch, *skip next chain, work 3 dc in next ch, skip next ch, make 1 sc in next ch, repeat * across to last 2 chains, skip next ch and work 2 dc in last ch. Mark this row as Right Side. Ch, turn.
Row 2- Make 1 sc in first dc, skip next dc, work 3 dc in next sc, *skip next dc, make 1 sc in next dc, skip next dc, make 3 dc in next sc; repeat from * across to last 2 sts, skip 1 stitch, work 1 sc in top of turning chain. Chain 3, turn.
Row 3- Make 1 dc in first sc, skip next dc, work 1 sc in next dc, *skip next dc, make 3 dc in next sc, skip next dc, work 1 sc in next dc; repeat from * across to last 2 sts, skip next dc, 2 dc in last stitch.

Repeat rows 2 and 3 for pattern.

That's all you need to make this beautiful stitch for your next project.
