The neck is one of the areas that easily gets chilled in the cold months. And I don't know if you do it, but when I'm cold, I bend over like a number 8, like a flamingo, to try to hide my neck and get a little warmth!
Lets save our backs and wear something cozy and cute when walking against a chilly wind. You can start by making this little pattern, it's easy. It would also make a pretty project for gift-giving and a wonderful project for charity.

Materials-
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Ranch Red (1 skein)
Crochet hook size H
Scissors
Blunt needle to weave in tails



Lace Edge Piece (Make 2)-
With Ranch Red and H hook, ch 22.
Row 1- 1 sc in second ch from hook, *ch 2, skip 3 ch, 5 dc shell in next ch, ch 2, skip 3 ch, 1 sc in next ch, end row as follows: ch 2, skip 3 ch, 1 sc in last ch. Ch 4, turn.
Row 2- Skip first sc, *work 1 dc in first dc of first shell, ch 2, skip 1 dc, in next dc make 1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc in last dc of shell, ch 1, skip next sc, 1 dc in first dc of next shell, ch 2, skip 1 dc, 1 dc, ch 2, 1 dc in next dc of shell, skip next dc, 1 dc in last dc of shell, end row as follows: ch 1, 1 dc in last sc, ch 3, turn.
Row 3- 4 dc in sp under first ch-2 (right before first dc,) ch 2, 1 sc in center sp over shell, ch 2, skip all the next dc and ch till next ch-2 sp, 5 dc in that ch-2 sp, ch 2, 1 sc in center sp over shell, ch 2, skip all sts till next ch-2 sp, right before end of row, 4 dc in that sp, 1 dc in top of turning ch. Ch 4, turn.
Row 6- Work 4 dc in space right after the first 2 dc of first shell (it is not a chain space, just insert the hook in between the dc sts,) ch 2, 4 dc in center of next sc, ch 2, 4 dc in next V-St shell, ch 2, 4 dc in next sc, ch 2, 4 dc in space right after the first 2 dc of first shell (it is not a chain space, just insert the hook in between the dc sts,) ch 1, 1 dc in top of turning ch. Ch 3, turn.

Left Side-
Turn piece around to the end that is narrower (the beginning chain), join Ranch Red to that edge.
Row 9- Work 20 sc across. (20 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 10- 1 sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Row 11- 1 sc in each sc across. (20 sc) Ch 3, turn.
Row 12- 1 dc in each sc across. (20 dc) Ch 4, turn.
Row 13- 1 tr in each dc across. (20 tr) Ch 3, turn.
Row 14- 1 dc in each sc across. (20 dc) Ch 4, turn.
Row 15- 1 tr in each dc across. (20 tr) Ch 3, turn.
Row 16- 1 dc in each tr across. (20 dc) Ch 4, turn.

Right Side-
Pick up second Lace Edge Piece and join Ranch Red yarn to it.

Row 9- Work 20 sc across. (20 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 10- 1 sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Row 11- 1 sc in each sc across. (20 sc) Ch 3, turn.
Row 12- 1 dc in each sc across. (20 dc) Ch 4, turn.
Row 13- 1 tr in each dc across. (20 tr) Ch 3, turn.
Row 14- 1 dc in each sc across. (20 dc) Ch 4, turn.
Row 15- 1 tr in each dc across. (20 tr) Ch 3, turn.

Place both sides together with Right Sides facing each other and Wrong Sides facing you and sew together using the tail you left on Left Side. Fasten off, weave in tail.

This scarflet is super easy to make, I made it in two sittings because I didn't have the time to make it all at once, but it can be made all at once, therefore it is an ideal project for a gift or for charity. It is great when you have to prepare something in a hurry! It is feminine and effective in a very simple sort of way.
Materials-
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Royal (1 skein)
Crochet hook size H
Scissors
Blunt needle

Note- Ch 4 counts as 1 tr, ch 3 counts as 1 dc throughout.


With Royal and H hook, ch 69.
Row 1- 1 tr in 5th ch from hook and in each ch across. (65 tr) Ch 3, turn.
Row 2- 1 dc in each tr across. (65 dc) Ch 4, turn.
Row 3- 1 tr in each dc across. (65 tr) Ch 3, turn.

Materials-

Right Side of Scarflet-

With Tea Leaf and H hook, ch 47.
Row 1- 2 dc in third ch from hook (first 2 ch count as 1 dc) *skip 3 ch, work 1 sc in next ch, ch 3, 1 dc in each of next 3 ch, skip 3 ch, 1 sc in  next ch, rep from * across, when you reach  the last 5 ch, end the row as follows: ch 3, work 1 dc in each of next 3 ch, skip 1 ch and make 1 sc in last ch. Turn.

Size- (After folded) 18 " L x 5" W
Skill- Easy

Materials-
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Coral (1 skein)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Claret (about 1/2 skein)
Crochet hook size H
Scissors
Blunt needle (to weave in ends)

With Coral and H hook, ch ch 25.
Row 1- 1 dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. (23 dc) Ch 4, turn.
Row 2- 1 tr in next dc in each dc across. (23 tr) Ch 3, turn.
Row 3- 1 dc in each tr across. Ch 4, turn.
Rows 4 to 22- Alternate rows 2 and 3. (23 sts) Ch 4, turn.
Row 23- 1 tr in each dc across. (23 sts) Ch 4, turn.
Row 24- 1 dc in each tr across. (23 sts) Do NOT Fasten off! Ch 1, turn.
Row 24- 1 sc in each st across. (23 sc)

Join Claret.
Row 1- Working across the long edge of the collar at the top, ch 5, skip 3 sc, 1 sc in next sc, ch 2, skip 3 sc, 1 dc in each of next 3 sc, ch 2, skip 3 sc, 1 sc in next sc, *ch 5, skip 3 sc, 1 sc in next sc, ch 2, skip 3 sc, 1 dc in each of next 3 sc, ch 2, skip 3 sc, 1 sc in next sc, rep from * across. DO NOT FASTEN OFF!
Fold the collar almost in half lengthwise, (leave only 4 rows of the bottom part showing), now, working through both thicknesses, sc up the side of the collar (9 sc). DO NOT FASTEN OFF!
Tie- 
Ch 33. Work 6 dc in 4th ch from hook. Fasten off, weave in ends.
Repeat on the opposite side of top of  Collar.
Edging #2-
Join Claret to Bottom of piece.
Row 1- Work 1 sc in each sc across. Fasten off, weave in ends.

One of the things that can make you feel the most miserable and uncomfortable in a chilly wind is to have your neck uncovered, it seems to reflect upon your whole body, but if you have something cozy and warm around our neck, you'll feel okay even in the rain. Sunglow is very easy to make but lovely and warm, it is also one of the easiest and fastest warming collars you can ever make.

Enjoy!

Size- 16 inches long x 5" wide (once folded)

Materials-
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Gold (about 1/2 skein)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Cornmeal (about 1/2 skein)
Crochet hook size H
Scissors
Blunt needle



With H hook and Gold, ch 25.
Row 1- 1 dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. (23 dc) Ch 4, turn.
Row 2- 1 tr in next dc in each dc across. (23 tr) Ch 3, turn.
Row 3- 1 dc in each tr across. Ch 4, turn.
Rows 4 to 18- Alternate rows 2 and 3. (23 sts) Ch 3, turn.
Row 19- 1 tr in each dc across. (23 sts) Ch 4, turn.
Row 20- 1 tr in each dc across. (23 sts) Fasten off, weave in tails.
Ruffles-
(Right Side) Join Cornmeal to Wrong Side of long side of Sunglow.

Including Edging of shells, count 8 sts across, fold Sunglow right there.

Tie #1-
Row 1- Insert hook into the sc of the row right behind the folded row and sl st to secure the fold. Sl st across row os sc that lies at the back of the folded piece until you reach the top of the collar.
Sl st there and ch 43.
Row 2- 1 4 dc in 4th ch from hook, (count as 5 dc) drop loop from hook, insert hook front to back through the top of the first dc of the popcorn, yarn over and pull through all loops on hook to form the popcorn. Fasten off, and weave in tail.

Join yarn to the opposite side of collar and repeat the same. Fasten off, weave in tails.

Row 1- Ch 4, 4 tr in same spot as ch 4, skip 3 tr, 1 sc in next tr, ch 2, skip to center tr of next shell, work 5 tr in that tr, ch 2, skip next ch and next tr, 1 sc in first tr of next shell, ch 2, 5 tr in center tr of shell, ch 2, 1 sc in last tr of shell, ch 2, 5 tr in center tr of next shell, ch 2,
skip next tr and ch, 1 sc in next tr, skip next 3 tr, 5 tr in last tr of row. Fasten off Lt. Raspberry, weave in tail.

Side #2-
Join Lt. Raspberry to opposite side of scarflet.
Row 1- Ch 4, 1 tr in each tr across. (21 tr) Ch 4, turn.
Row 2- 1 tr in each tr across. (21 tr) Ch 4, turn.  (These 2 rows correpond to the two rows of keyhole on opposite side.)
Lace-
Rep all rows as for lace on Side #1.
Fasten off, weave in tails.
