"The truth as it is in Jesus can be experienced, but never explained. Its height and breadth and depth pass out knowledge. We may task out imagination to the utmost, and then we shall see only dimply the outlines of a love that is unexplainable, that is as high as heaven, but that stooped to the earth to stamp the image og God on all mankind." Poetic Edging

Best Blog Tips

I like edgings that work themselves up vertically not horizontally. Don't you think it is awful to do all of those chains and stitches just to find out when you are done, that your edging is either too long or too short? Well, it has happened to me, and that is the reson why I prefer vertical edgings. Here's one I came up with today and I would like to share it with you all. It is very easy and would look beautiful in just about anything. Although I used yarn, you can use #10 crochet thread if your edging will be used for a top or any other delicate-looking piece.

Bahama Warmth Capelet

Best Blog Tips
This is a medium size capelet which I made for a gift.
If you would like a different-looking capelet, try this one.
It is very easy to make.

Materials:

Red Heart worsted weight yarn Shocking Pink
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Spring Green
Crochet hook size H
Blunt needle, if you use it to weave in tails.
Button to fit size of loop you leave on closure frog in green or pink

Note 1- Ch 3 counts as 1 dc unless otherwise noted.

Note 2- This capelet is a size Medium. But the pattern is so easy, I am very certain that by starting the lace about two rows before the size for mediu, you might tweak it to fit a smaller size. I would suggest that if you would like to make it for another size, that you use a measuring tape and a garment the size you would like to make it. Measure it carefully, write down the inches, and as you make the top, try to reach the width of the garment you are using for your measurement, which would correspond to the back of the person you are making it for. Continue the rows and increases until you reach that size. Follow the lace pattern across each row carefully so that the design will fit your larger or smaller size. It can be done, you only have to keep track of what you are doing.

With Shocking Pink, ch 59.
Row 1- 1 dc in 4th ch from hook and in each of next 8 ch, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in next ch, 1 dc in each of next 8 ch, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in each of next 18, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in next ch, 1 dc in each of next 8 dc, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in next ch, 1 dc in each of last 8 ch.
