Lacy Geranium Scarflet

Best Blog Tips

Personally, I love lace and I don't think there's a more cheerful color than red. Why not combine the two?
This is a pretty and easy scarflet to make, especially for gift-giving and charity projects. It will make anyone you give to feel special because of the lovely lace edges.

Materials-
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Cherry Red (1 skein)
Crochet hook size H
Blunt needle to weave in tails
Scissors

Note- Remember that your lace edges must be as wide as your scarflet section, so do not crochet too tightly when you make the edges!

Lacy Edges Edge #1

This is not exactly the same scarflet but a play on colors and stitches to make a nice opposite.
If in your future list of gifts you have two sisters, these two scarflets would be a nice thing to give them. They are a lovely match without an exact "sameness." Often, not even identical twins like to dress alike!

Materials-

Red Heart worsted weight yarn Cherry Red
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Royal
Button of your choice (appropriate size for buttonhole formed by space between 2 tr stitches)
Crochet hook size H
Blunt needle (to weave in ends)
Scissors
Sewing needle
Sewing thread (color of button chosen)

Note- Each ch 3 counts as 1 dc and each ch 4 counts as first tr of row throughout.

With Cherry Red, ch 24.
Row 1- 1 dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. (22 dc) Ch 4, turn.

Row 5- 1 dc in each tr across. (22 dc) Ch 4, turn.
Rows 6 to 36- Alternate 1 dc row and 1 tr row, ending with 1 dc row. (22 sts) Fasten off Cherry Red, weave in tail.
Row 37- Join Royal. Work 1 sc in each of first 9 dc, sc2tog over next 2 dc, 1 sc in each of next 11 dc. (21 sc)

Row 38- 1 dc in next sc, ch 1, skip 2 sc, *1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc in next sc, ch 1, skip 2 sc, 2 dc in next sc, ch 1, skip 2 sc, rep from * across till you reach
last 2 sc, 1 dc in each of last 2 sc. Ch 3, turn.
Row 39- 1 dc in next dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, *1 dc in center ch-1 sp of next shell, ch 1, 1 dc in each of next 2 dc, ch 1, rep from * across. Ch 3, turn.
Rows 40 to 49- Rep row 39. Fasten off Royal, weave in tail.
Row 50- Join Royal to opposite edge of Scarflet. Work 1 sc in each of first 9 dc, sc2tog over next 2 dc, 1 sc in each of next 11 dc. (21 sc)
Rows 51 to 61- Rep Lace Edge as done previously.

Weave in all remaining tails and clean up scarflet. Sew button to 11th dc of 3rd row on the right side of scarflet. Fasten off. To button up scarflet, simply
insert button through the tr row that matches the button level on the opposite side of scarflet.
