This is a relatively easy scarflet but pretty and cheery in many ways.

Red Heart worsted weight yarn Cherry Red (scraps)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Ranch Red (scraps)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Claret (scraps)
Crochet hook size H
Scissors
Blunt needle (to weave in ends)

Size- 30 1/2" long x 4 1/2" wide

Scarflet:
With Cherry Red, ch 64.
Row 1- 1 dc in fourth ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 3, turn. (62 dc)
Row 2- 1 dc in each dc across. Ch 3, turn. (62 dc)
Row 3- 1 dc in each dc across. Ch 3, turn. (62 dc)
Row 4- 1 dc in each dc across. Fasten of Cherry Red, weave in tail. (62 dc)
Row 5- Join Ranch Red and work 1 dc in each dc across. Ch 3, turn. (62 dc)
Row 6- 1 dc in each dc across. Ch 3, turn. (62 dc)
Row 7- 1 dc in each dc across. (62 dc) Fasten off Ranch Red. Weave in tails.
Row 8- Join Claret to foundation loops of first Cherry Red row. Work 1 sc in each dc across. (62 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 9- Work 17 sc across narrow side of scarflet.
Row 10- Working on long side of scarflet (Ranch Red side), make 62 sc.
Row 11- Work 17 sc across opposite narrow side of scarflet. Sl st to join to beginning sc (Cherry Red side of scarflet.)

Keyhole:
Row 1- 1 hdc in each of next 17 sc across the first narrow side of scarflet. (17 hdc) Ch 4, turn.
Row 2- 1 tr in each of next 3 hdc, ch 8, skip 8 hdc, 1 tr in each of last 4 hdc. Ch 2, turn.
Row 3- 1 hdc in each tr and in each ch across. (keyhole made) Ch 3, turn.
Decorative Edges:
Row 1-  1 dc in each of next 3 hdc, ch 3, skip 3 hdc, 1 sc in each of next 2 hdc, ch 3, skip 3 hdc, 1 dc in each of last 4 hdc. Ch 3, turn.
Row 2- 1 dc in each of next 3 dc, ch 3, 1 sc in second ch of ch-3 space,  ch 3, 1 sc in second ch of next ch-3 sp,  ch 3, 1 dc in each of last 4 dc. Ch 3, turn.
Row 3- 1 dc in each of next 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, 1 dc in each of last 4 dc. Ch 3, turn.
Row 4- 1 dc in each of next 3 dc, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, in ch-2 space of central shell, 1 dc in each of last 4 dc. Ch 3, turn.
Row 5- 1 dc in each of next 3 dc, ch 1, skip first 2 dc of central shell, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc in next dc, ch 1, 1 dc in each of last 4 dc. Ch 3, turn.
Row 6-  Rep row 5. Fasten off Claret. Weave in tail.

Join Claret to opposite narrow side of scarflet.

Base of Edge:
Row 1- 1 hdc in each sc across. (17 hdc) Ch 4, turn (counts as 1 tr of next row).
Row 2- 1 tr in each hdc across. (17 tr) Ch 2, turn.
Row 3- 1 hdc in each tr across. (17 hdc) Ch 3, turn.

Decorative Edges:
Row 1-  1 dc in each of next 3 hdc, ch 3, skip 3 hdc, 1 sc in each of next 2 hdc, ch 3, skip 3 hdc, 1 dc in each of last 4 hdc. Ch 3, turn.
Row 2- 1 dc in each of next 3 dc, ch 3, 1 sc in second ch of ch-3 space,  ch 3, 1 sc in second ch of next ch-3 sp,  ch 3, 1 dc in each of last 4 dc. Ch 3, turn.
Row 3- 1 dc in each of next 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, 1 dc in each of last 4 dc. Ch 3, turn.
Row 4- 1 dc in each of next 3 dc, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, in ch-2 space of central shell, 1 dc in each of last 4 dc. Ch 3, turn.
