The story is told of a policeman that was one day walking his beat and he said a boy with a mirror directing the sunlight into one of the upper windows of a highrise. He got suspicious and approached t
he boy asking him if he wanted to annoy somebody. The child pointed to the window and told the officer that his brother was sick and couldn't come out and that every once in a while he came out and pointed the sunlight into his window so that he could see the sun, because they lived in the side of the building that didn't get the sunlight.
Your life can reflect to others the love of God. Give a smile, a word of cheer, a little warmth as you pass by the road of life.

Oatmeal and Cornstarch Scrubby

Best Blog Tips

Oatmeal Bath--- Oatmeal baths are not only for soothing away poison ivy and poison oak! Oatmeal contains plant hormones and some oils which soften and soothe the skin. 1 tablespoon or two of oatmeal is enough if you are going to use is as a scrubby, if you want to use the bag to float on your bathtub, fill it with at least 1/2 cup of oats.
Cornstarch is refreshing in the summer, especially if you have very sensitive skin which gets irritated by increased perspiration, or which suffers from rashes or sunborn easily. A couple of tablespoons of cornstarch with or without oartmeal added will leave your skin feeling smooth, soft and comfortable. It can really help soothe dry, itchy skin.
Traditionally, oatmeal i used ina cheesecloth bag, but this crocthered scrubby is ideal because it serves a dual purpose, if you want to take a bathtub bath, just let it float in the warm water until it turns milky. Soak it in it to your hert's content.
Another way of using it is as an actually scrubby, putting the oatmeal and or the corstarch inside the bag, closing the bag and actually scrubbing your wet skin with it to exfoliate and ssoothe your skin at the same time. You can add a drop or two of your favorite essential oil if you want to, like lavender, lilac or rose.

Craftybegonia's Natural Cotton Bath Pouf

Best Blog Tips
This pouf is ideal for exfoliating your skin. If you would like it softer, then use a sports weight cotton yarn.
Materials: worsted weight cotton and F size and C size hook.

To start, wrap the cotton yarn around your index finger 4 times. Slip out of your finger carefully, not to break the "rings". Hold "rings" with one hand and with the other slip hook
under them and pull out a loop, make 1 sc. Now continue all around and make 15 more sc. Slip st to close ring.
Round 1- Ch 3, 1 dc in each of next 3 sc, 2 dc in next sc, rep around, ending with 2dc in last sc and a slip st to join round to beginning ch-3.
Round 2- Ch 5, sl st in next dc, rep all around. Round 3-Rep round 2, making a slip st instead of an sc to join the 5-ch loops, and using the loops you see at the back of each sc of previous row to make your slip st.
Round 4-Ch 3, make 11 dc in first loop of previous round, make 12 dc in every other loop around.
Round 5- Ch 3, 5 dc in same st, 6 dc innext dc and in each dc around.
If you would like your pouf to be larger, repeat Round 5 once or twice more. Join with sl st to beginning ch-3 of round. Fasten off.
Hanging Loop: Insert your fingers into the back of your pouf and find the back of the starting ring. Slip a C size hook into one of the sc there and join thread, pull up a loop, and continue until you have a chain of 43 ch.
Now sc all across the chain. Fasten off, leaving a long tail to sew the hanging loop to your pouf.
Enjoy!

Eyelet round: Ch 3, 1 sc in ch-3 space of first "V" stitch of previoud round, ch 2, 1 sc in next "V" St, rep around, slip stitch to finish round. Fasten off.
Cord: Ch 70, begin to insert one end all around in and out the holes of the eyelet, matching both ends at the center on the other side before you fasten off. Pull them both to close the little "bag". It will look like a miniature drawstring purse.

Now, cut the thread as if to fasten off, take one end of the cord, about 1 inch long and fold it to one side of itself, making a loop, make a knot around that, leaving a loop beyond the knot to hang the bag from. Repeat on the other side.
And your'e done. cut off the thread.
