If you love the look of knit but hate to do tunisian, this might be a pretty good compromise between the two, and it is still crochet! A while back, I purchased the book Knit 1, Purl 2 in Crochet by Bendy Carter. I must admit that I haven't done a single project in tyhat book. All I got it for was to learn the purl stitch, since I had already figured out how to make my own knit stitch and it turned out to be very similar to hers! I was planning on coming up with my own stitches, since I learned to knit when I was pretty young and by just combining the knit and the purl you have endless possiblilities, this stitch is my first knit/purl in crochet. It is my own stitch, but I give Bendy credit for the purl stitch (thanks Bendy!) it is a chunky but pretty stitch that you can have a lot of fun with. Hope you like it! Worsted weight yarn colorof your choice Crochet size hook H Chain an even amount of sts For the sample block, i chained 21. Row 1- 1 sc in third ch from hook and in each ch across. Row 2- Pull yarn to the front, insert hook from front to back on front loop of first sc, turning the hooking head of the hook downwards, pull yarn through that loop, yo, and pull yarn through both loops on hook. (Purl-like stitch made) Pull yarn to front, insert hook from front to back on front loop of first sc, turning the hooking head of the hook downwards, pull yarn through that loop, yo, and pull yarn through both loops on hook, repeat across. Note- You have now 2 rows of "knit-like" stitch. Row 3- *Insert hook in center of first "knit-like" st, pull up a loop, insert hook in center of next "knit-like" stitch and pull up loop, yo, pull yarn through both loops (k2tog done), ch 1, repeat from * across. Ch 1, turn. Row 4- Make 1 purl-like stitch in each stitch and chain across. Note- Always work on front loop and do not work tighly. Row 5- Repeat row 3. Alternate rows 3 and 4 for pattern. Note- This pattern tends to lean to one side like some tunisian stitches do, so you will have to block a square made from it.

"Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:therefore thw world knoweth us not because it knew Him not." 1 John 3:1. "People think it a privilege to see a royal personage, and thousands go great distances to see one. How much greater privilege it is to be sons and daughters of the Most High. What greater privilege could be conferred on us than to be given entrance into the royal family[of God]?" Sons and Daughters of God, 8.

It has been an interessting and exciting summer! From the 6-ft-long Diamondback rattle snake that wanted to next under our house, and wound up in the freezer of our neighbor, when it wandered out of our front yard and a passing vehicle ran it ove(he said he intends to turn its skin into a hat...don't ask me how!!!) to the back-to-back storms that blew through our town and landed 5 tornadoes in a day in a town 3hours away from ours! (through a wonderful providence of God nobody was killed over there!)God has been very good to us, and I'm very grateful. Now I'm ready for quieter weather, even though it's going to get busier and busier till the end of the year!
