This is one of those easy short scarflets that you whip up in a jiffy and can throw in your bag to face an unexpected change in the weather with lots of style. It is also a great project for charity or for gift-giving. Enjoy!

Materials-
worsted weight yarn, Delft Blue, (1 skein )
Crochet hook size H
scissors
yarn needle to weave in ends

Skill- Moderately easy

Size- 38" L x 5" W


With Delft Blue and H hook, ch 71.
Row 1- 1 sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (70 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 2- slip st in first st, *hdc in next st, slip st in next st, rep from * across. (70 sts) Ch 1, turn (does not count as a stitch throughout).
Row 3- 1 hdc in each stitch across. (70 sts) Ch 1, turn.
Row 4- Rep row 2. (70 sts) Ch 1, turn.
Row 5- Rep row 3. (70 sts) Ch 1, turn.
Rows 6 to 18- Reps rows 2 and 3 alternately. (70 sts) Ch 1, turn.
Row 19- 1 sc in each stitch across. (70 sts) Ch 1.
Do not turn piece, but work on the narrow edge of scarf.
Side 1-
Row 1- Work 19 sc across narrow edge of scarf. (19 sts) Ch 2, turn (counts as first st of row)
Row 2- 1 hdc in each stich across. (19 sts) Ch 2, turn.
Rows 3 to 4- Rep row 2. Ch 4, turn.
Row 5- 1 tr in each of next 4 sts, ch 9, skip 9 sts, 1 tr in each of last 5 sts. (19 sts, keyhole started) ch 2, turn (Counts as first st of next row).
Row 6- 1 hdc in each st and in each ch across. (19 sts) (Keyhole completed) Ch 2, turn (counts as first st of row).
Rows 7 to 10- 1 Hdc in each st across. (19 sts) Ch 4, turn (counts as first dc + ch 1 of next row).
Row 11- Skip 1 st, 1 dc in next st, ch 1, *skip 1 st, 1 dc in next st, ch 1, rep from * across, ch 1, 1 dc in top of turning ch. (19 sts) Ch 3 (counts as first st of nex row), turn.
Row 12- 1 dc in each st and in each ch across. (19 sts)
Rows 13 to 18- Repeat rows 11 and 12 alternately.
Edging-
Ch 4, slip stitch in first ch of ch-4 (picot made), slip stitch in each of next 3 sts, picot, rep across, make a picot in last st.

Fasten off. Weave in tails.


Side 2-
Rows 1- 4: Repeat rows 1 to 4 of Side 1.Ch 4, turn. (19 sts)
Row 5- 1 tr in each stitch across. (19 sts)
Rows 6 to 10- 1 Hdc in each st across. (19 sts) Ch 4, turn (counts as first dc + ch 1 of next row).
Row 11- Skip 1 st, 1 dc in next st, ch 1, *skip 1 st, 1 dc in next st, ch 1, rep from * across, ch 1, 1 dc in top of turning ch. (19 sts) Ch 3 (counts as first st of nex row), turn.
Row 12- 1 dc in each st and in each ch across. (19 sts)
Rows 13 to 18- Repeat rows 11 and 12 alternately.
Edging-
Ch 4, slip stitch in first ch of ch-4 (picot made), slip stitch in each of next 3 sts, picot, rep across, make a picot in last st.

Fasten off. Weave in tails.
