Waterstone Scarf

Best Blog Tips
I love the blues and greens in the aquamarine family, and I decided to make a short scarf in colors that resemble those hues, with a bit of the "rejoice because it's spring" punch of a vibrant lime. Here you have the result! It is very easy to make, cute and feminine with its frilly edge and medellion gathering strap. Hope you like it!

Moni's Edging

Best Blog Tips

I love these types of mile-a-minute edgings which work upwards, because they are easier to measure and adjust to fit a project than the ones that work up horizontally. It's terrible to make all your edging in a particular length only to find out later that it is either too short or too long!

With this kind of edging that won't happen since you work the base of the edging upwards until you have the exact width you need, then you turn the corner and work the decorative ends, that way, it is sure to fit!

This lovely and easy edging could be used for many different projects, from a shawl to an afghan.

Base-
With chosen color of worsted wight yarn and crochet hook size H (I used Red Heart's Shocking Pink), ch 5.
Row 1- Ch 5. 2 dc in 4th ch from hk, ch 2, 3 dc in next ch. Ch 5, turn.
Row 2- 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in ch-2 sp, ch 5, turn.
Row 3- 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in ch-2 sp, ch 3, turn.
Rep rows 2 and 3 alternately, until you have the length you need to sew the edging to your project (widthwise.)
When you reach that measurement, work the decorative end as follows:

Decorative End:
Row 1-
Work base row 3 once. Ch 3.
Row 2- Make 8 dc in 1st ch-5 space, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in next ch-5 sp, *work 8 dc in next ch-5 sp, 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc in next ch-5 sp, rep from * across. Ch 3, turn.

Row 3- 1 dc in each of first 2 dc of 8-dc shell, ch 6, skip 2 dc, 1 dc in each of last 3 dc of 8-dc shell, ch 2, 1 sc in ch-2 sp of next shell, ch 2, *1 dc in each of first 3 dc of 8-dc shell, ch 6, skip 2 dc, 1 dc in each of last 3 dc of 8-dc shell, ch 2, 1 sc in ch-2 sp of next shell, ch 2, rep from * across. Ch 3, turn.
Row 4- 1 dc in each of next 2 dc, in ch-6 sp work: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, ch 4, sl st in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc, ch 1, 1 sc in next sc, ch 1, *1 dc in each of next 3 dc, in next ch-6 sp work: 1 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, ch 4, sl st in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 sc, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc, ch 1, 1 sc in next sc, ch 1, rep from * across.

Buff Fleck Simple 'N Warm Scarf

Best Blog Tips

This scarf is an ideal project for an advanced beginner or for anyone making scarves for charity. It works up really fast, it is warm and it looks really nice because although it is pretty simple, it is made in a really pretty and appealing yarn. It is long enough to wrap around a neck generously, but if you want to, you can make it a bit shorter. It matches our Buff Fleck Beanie for a perfect set!

Materials:

2 skeins Red Heart worsted weight yarn Buff Fleck
Crochet hook size H
Measuring tape
Scissors
Blunt needle (to weave in tails)

Ch 25.
Row 1- 1 tr in 5th ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 4, turn. (22 tr)
Row 2- 1 tr in each tr across.(22 tr) Ch 4, turn.
Note- Ch 4, stands for first tr of row.
Rows 3 to 58- Rep row 2.(22 tr)
Row 59- 1 tr in each tr across. Fasten off, weave in tail.

8 tassels on each end- Cut 4 strands per tassel, 12 inches long and fold in half, attach to end of scarf.
Repeat across. Do the same at opposite end of scarf.

"Christ was treated as we deserve, that we might be treated as He deserves. He was condemned for our sins, in which He had no share, that we might be justified by His righteousness, in which we had no share. He took the death that was ours, that we might receive the life that was His. 'With His stripes we are healed.' " The Desire of Ages, 25.

Cute Buff Fleck Beanie

Best Blog Tips

This is a very easy beanie to do. It is worked in straight rows and not in the round. It also takes less than 1 skein to make!

Materials:

Red Heart worsted weight yarn Buff Fleck
Crochet hook size H
Scissors
Blunt needle
Button of your choice to decorate top of beanie (can be a wooden button)
Sewing needle and thread of color to match (optional)

Ch 33.

Row 1- Make 1 hdc in third ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 2, turn. (31 hdc)
Row 2- 1 hdc in each hdc across. (31 hdc) Ch 2, turn.
Row 3 to 53- Rep row 2. (31 hdc) Ch 2, turn.
Row 54- 1 hdc in each hdc across. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

How to form beanie:

Thread blunt needle with leftover tail and sew top of beanie, gathering into folds as you go. Fasten off, weave in tail.
Sew button to top of beaine either using yarn (the one in the photo has a button sewn with yarn to accent it even more) or using a sewing needle and matching thead.

Edging: Join yarn to bottom of beanie and sc all around to give it a nice tidy edge. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Done!
