Cute Buff Fleck Beanie

Best Blog Tips

This is a very easy beanie to do. It is worked in straight rows and not in the round. It also takes less than 1 skein to make!

Materials:

Red Heart worsted weight yarn Buff Fleck
Crochet hook size H
Scissors
Blunt needle
Button of your choice to decorate top of beanie (can be a wooden button)
Sewing needle and thread of color to match (optional)

Ch 33.

Row 1- Make 1 hdc in third ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 2, turn. (31 hdc)
Row 2- 1 hdc in each hdc across. (31 hdc) Ch 2, turn.
Row 3 to 53- Rep row 2. (31 hdc) Ch 2, turn.
Row 54- 1 hdc in each hdc across. Fasten off, leaving long tail to sew with.

How to form beanie:

Thread blunt needle with leftover tail and sew top of beanie, gathering into folds as you go. Fasten off, weave in tail.
Sew button to top of beaine either using yarn (the one in the photo has a button sewn with yarn to accent it even more) or using a sewing needle and matching thead.

Edging: Join yarn to bottom of beanie and sc all around to give it a nice tidy edge. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Done!

What size head will this fit?

Craftybegonia said...

22 inches in circumference. The great thing about this beanie is that you can increase the size by just making a few more rows and then you've got it when you gather the top. You just take a measuring tape and measure as far as you want to go and then stop, gather the top, sew in tails and attach your button!
