This little scarf is ideal when you want warmth around your neck but do not feel like dragging a long scarf. Very easy and cute!
Materials-
1 skein Red Heart worsted weight Cherry Red
Crochet hook size H
Blunt needle (to weave in tails)
Scissors
Ch 23.
Row 1- 1 dc in 4th ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch 3, turn. (21 dc)
Row 2- 1 dc in each across. Ch 3, turn. (21 dc)
Rows 3 to 40- 1 dc in each dc across. Ch 3, turn. (21 dc)
Row 41- 1 dc in each dc across. (21 dc) Ch 4, turn.
Note- Each ch 3 stands for first dc of row, and each ch 4, stands for first tr of row.
Row 42- 1 tr in each of next 4 dc, ch 11, skip 11 dc, 1 tr in each of last 5 dc. (Keyhole made) Ch 3, turn.
Row 43- 1 dc in each tr and in each ch across. (21 dc) (Keyhole completed) Ch 3, turn.
Rows 44 to 46- 1 dc in each stitch across. Ch 3, turn. (21 dc)
Row 47- 1 dc in each dc across. Ch 4, turn.
Edging-
Row 1- Kip 1 dc, 1 dc in next dc, ch 1, *skip next dc, 1 dc in next dc, ch 1, rep from *across. Ch 4, turn (counts as 1 dc, ch 1 for next row).
Row 2- (Using front loops only across this row) 1 dc, ch 1 in same spot as ch 4, [1 dc, ch 1] rep 3 more times in same stitch, skip to the next
dc, ignoring ch-1 space, and work in that dc [1 dc, ch 1] 5 times, rep from *across. Ch 4, turn.
Row 3- 1dc in back loop where you made your last stitch on previous row, ch 1, 1 dc in back loop of next dc, *ch 1, 1 dc in back loop of next dc, rep from * across.
Row 4- Rep row 2. Fasten off, weave in tail. Fasten off, weave in tail.
Opposite side-
Join Cherry red to opposite side of scarf.
Row 48- Ch 3, 1 dc in each dc across. (21 dc) Ch 3, turn.
Rows 49 to 50- 1 dc in each dc across. (21 dc) Ch 4, turn.
Row 51- 1 tr in each dc across. Ch 4, turn.
Edging- Rep as for opposite side Eding. Fasten off, weave in tail.
