Cowls are so cozy and warm for this time of year, they are also faster to make (in my humble opinion) than scarflets! Sophia is a two-toned, somewhat large cowl that is saturated with color and dappled with a soft texture, this cowl gives you both a comfortable, warm feel and a pretty look.
It is super easy to make also!
Materials-
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Gold (5 oz)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Cornmeal (5 oz)
Crochet hook size H
Blunt needle (to weave in tails)
Scissors
Skill- Advanced beginner
Size- 5 1/2 " W x 17 1/2" L or Approx. 36 1/2" in circumference.
With Gold and H hook, ch 135, sl st to join into ring, making sure you do not twist the chain.
Rnd 1- Ch 1, 1 hdc in next ch and in each ch around. Sl st to join rnd in top of beginning ch 2.
Rnd 2- Ch 1, 1 sc and 1 dc in first hdc, skip 1 hdc, *1 sc and 1 dc in next hdc, skip next hdc, rep around from *, sl st in first sc to join rnd.
Rnd 3- Ch 1, skip first sc, 1 sc and 1 dc in next dc, *skip next sc, 1 sc and 1 dc in next dc, rep from * around, sl st in first sc to join rnd.
Rnds 4 to 8- Rep rnd 3. Sl st to join rnd. Fasten off, weave in tail.
Rnd 9- Join Cornmeal, work 1 hdc in each st around, sl st to join rnd. (135 sts)
Rnd 10- Rep rnd 2. Sl st to join rnd.
Rnd 11- Rep rnd 3. Sl st to join rnd.
Rnds 12 to 15- Rep rnd 3.
Rnd 16- Ch 2, rep rnd 9. Fasten off, weave in tails.
Done!
