Craftybegonia Sunflower Shades Capelet

This capelet was inspired by the pretty new hybrid sunflowers that have earthy, almost sunset colors!
It has been loved around here, hope you like it too. Enjoy!

Skill- Intermediate (though an adventurous advanced beginner could tackle it with patience!)

Finished size- 19" wide x 13" long

Materials-
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Coffee (about half a skein)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Pumpkin (about half a skein. You will not use it all)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Soft Brown (about half a skein)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Gold (about half a skein)
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Cornmeal (about half a skein)
Crochet hooks sizes I, H and F
Blunt needle
Scissors

Capelet-
With Coffee and I hook, ch 69.
Row 1- 1 dc in 4th ch from hook (ch 3 counts as 1st dc) and in each ch across. (67 dc) Ch 4, turn.
Row 2- (Ch 4 counts as 1st tr of this row) 1 tr in same spot as ch 1, 1 tr in next dc, *2 tr in next dc, 1 tr in
next dc, rep from * across. (100 tr) Ch 3, turn.
Row 3- 1 dc in each tr across. (100 dc) Ch 4, turn.
Row 4- 1 tr in each of next 4 dc, 2 tr in next dc, *1 tr in each of next 5 dc, 2 tr in next dc, rep from * across. (116 tr) Ch 3, turn.
Row 5- 1 dc in each tr across. (116 dc) Fasten off Coffee, weave in tail.
Row 6- Join Pumpkin. Work 1 sc in each of first 10 dc, 2 sc in next dc, *1 sc in each of next 10 dc, 2 sc in next dc, rep from * across.
End row by making 1 sc in each of last 5 dc. (127 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 7- 1 sc in each sc across. (127 sc) Ch 1, turn.
Row 8- 1 sc in each sc across. (127 sc) Fasten off Pumpking, weave in tail.
Row 9- Join Soft Brown. Ch 3, 2 dc in next sc, [ch 1, skip 1 sc, 1 dc in next sc,] rep 3 times, *skip 1 sc, 1 dc in next sc, 2 dc in next sc,
[ch 1, skip 1 sc, 1 dc in next sc,] rep 3 times, rep from * across. (87 dc, 56 ch) Ch 3, turn.
Row 10- Skip first 2 dc of first shell, work 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in next dc, ch 1, [1 dc in next dc, ch 1] rep a total of 3 times, ch 1, skip next 2
dc, 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc  in next dc, ch 1, *[1 dc in next dc, ch 1] rep a total of 3 times, ch 1, skip next 2
dc, 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc  in next dc, ch 1, rep from 8 across. End row by making 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in top of truning ch. Ch 4, turn.
From now on, change to H hook.
Row 11- Skip to ch-1 sp of first shell, worm 3 dc in that ch-1 sp, [ch 1, 1 dc in next dc] rep a total of 3 times, ch 1, *3 dc in ch-1 sp of next
shell, [ch 1, 1 dc in next dc] rep a total of 3 times, rep from * across. Finish row with a ch 1, 1 dc in top of turning ch. Ch 4, turn.
Row 12- Skip first 2 dc of first shell, 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in next dc of first shell, ch 1, *[1 dc in next dc, ch 1] rep a total of 3 times, ch 1, skip next 2
dc, 2 dc, ch 1, 2 dc in next dc, ch 1, *[1 dc in next dc, ch 1] rep a total of 3 times, ch 1, rep from * across. Ch 4, turn.

Row 13- Rep row 11. Fasten off Soft Brown, weave in tail. (in all the Soft Brown rows you must have, 15 clusters, 42 dc each with 1 ch in between.)
Row 14- Join Gold. Ch 3, 1 dc in next st, ch 1, skip next st, *1 dc in each of next 2 sts, ch 1, skip next st, rep from * across. End row by making 2 dc in top of turning ch. Ch 3, turn.
Note- Ch 3 stands for first dc until further notice.
Row 15- 1 dc in next st, ch 1, *1 dc in each of next 2 dc, ch 1, rep across. Ch 3, turn.
Row 16 to 17- Rep row 15. Fasten off Gold, weave in tail. (145 sts)
Row 18- Join Cornmeal. Ch 3, 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, ch 1, skip 1 st, *1 dc in each of next 3 sts, ch 1, skip 1 st, rep from * across. Ch 3, turn.
Row 19- 1 dc in same spot as ch 3, 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 1, skip 1 ch and 1 dc, 1 dc in next dc, ch 1, skip 1 ch and 1 dc, *2 dc in first dc, 1 dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 1,
skip next ch and next dc, 1 dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next ch and next dc, rep from * across. Ch 3, turn.
Row 20- 1 dc in same spot as ch 3, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next ch 1, next dc and next ch 1, *2 dc in next dc, , 1 dc in each of next next 3 dc, 2 dc in next dc, ch 1, skip next ch 1, next dc, and next ch 1, rep from * across.
Row 21- Ch 2, yo and insert hook in next dc, and pull up loop, yo and pull yarn through all loops on hook, dc2tog over next 2 dc, 1 dc in next dc, dc2tog over next 2 dc, ch 2, *dc2tog over first 2 dc of next petal, 1 dc in next dc, dc2tog over next 2 dc of petal, dc2tog over last 2 dc of petal, ch 2, rep from *, across.
Row 22- Ch 2, yo and insert hook in next dc, and pull up loop, yo and pull yarn through all loops on hook, dc2tog over next 2 dc, ch 4, *dc2tog over first 2 dc of next petal, dc2tog over last 2 dc of same petal, ch 4, rep crom * across, 1 dc in top of turning ch.

Edging-
Sl st till space in between the two sets of dc2togs made on previous row, ch 3, 4 dc in that space, ch 2, 1 sc in next ch sp, *insert hook in psace in between the 2 sets of dc2tog made in previous row, work 5 dc in that space, ch 2, 1 sc in next ch sp, rep from * across, sl st in stop of turning ch. Fasten off, weave in tails.

Ties-
Yo-yos (Make 2)
With Gold and F hook, ch 5, slip st to close ring.
Rnd 1- Ch 3 in ring, work 16 dc in ring. Sl st to join rnd bypassing beginning ch 3. Fasten off, weave in tail.

Tie- 
With F hook, join Coffee to 1 of the yo-yos, ch 52. Fasten off, sew tie to top edge of capelet. Repeat with opposite side. Fasten off, weave in ends.
