Best Blog Tips



This lovely lacy scarflet is a breeze to make! Because it is made with trebles, it works up really fast.
It's an ideal project to give as a gift or for charity. It would be lovely for you to wear it as an easy long-scarf substitute.

Size- 40" L x 6 1/2" W

Skill- Moderately easy (if you can follow apattern, you can me it!)

Materials-
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Lt. Raspberry (1 skein)
Crochet hook size H
Blunt needle to weave in ends
Scissors

Note- Ch 4 at start of row stands for 1 tr.

With Raspberry and H hook, ch 23.
Row 1- 1 tr in 5th ch from hook and in each ch across. (21 tr) Ch 4, turn.
Row 2- 1 tr in each tr across. (21 tr) Ch 4, turn.
Rows 3 to 22- 1 tr in each tr across. (21 tr) Ch 4, turn.
Row 23- 1 tr in each tr across. (21 tr) Ch 4, turn.
Row 24- 1 tr in each of next 4 tr, ch 11, skip 11 tr, 1 tr in each of last 5 tr. (Keyhole started)(10 tr, 11 ch) Ch 4, turn.
Row 25- 1 tr in each tr and in each ch across. (21 tr) (keyhole completed) Ch 4, turn.



Lace-
Side #1-
Row 1- 1 tr in each ofnext 4 tr, ch 4, skip 4 tr, 1 sc in next tr, ch 3, skip 1 sc, 1 sc in next tr, ch 4, skip 4 tr, 1 tr in each of last 5 tr. (10 tr, 11 ch, 2 sc) Ch 4, utrn.
Row 2- 1 tr in each of next 4 tr, ch 2, skip 1 ch, 1 sc in next ch, ch 1, skip next chs, 7 tr in ch-3 loop, ch 1, skip next 2 ch, 1 sc in next ch, skip next ch, 1 tr in each of last 5 tr. (10 tr, 4 ch, 2 sc, 7-tr shell) Ch 4, turn.
Row 3- 1 tr in each of next 4 tr, ch 1, 2 tr, ch 1, 1 tr in first tr of shell, ch 1, skip 2 tr of shell, 1 tr, ch 1, 1 tr. ch 1, 1 tr in next tr of shell, ch 1, skip 2 tr of shell, 1 tr, ch 1, 2 tr in last tr of shell, che 1, 1 tr in each of last 5 tr of row. (19 tr, 8 ch) Ch 4, turn.
Row 4- 1 tr in each of next 4 tr, ch 1, 2 tr, ch 1, 1 tr in ch-2 sp of next shell, ch 1, 1 tr, ch 1, 1 tr, ch 1, 1 tr in center tr of next shell, ch 1, 1 tr, ch 1, 1 tr, ch 1, 2 tr in ch-1 sp of next shell, ch 1, 1 tr in each of last 5 tr. (19 tr, 8 ch) Ch 4, turn.
Rows 5 and 6- Rep row 4. Ch 4, turn.
Row 7- Rep row 4.
Note- You can leave it as is, or make the following very simple shell edging:

Edging-
Row 1- Ch 4, 4 tr in same spot as ch 4, skip 3 tr, 1 sc in next tr, ch 2, skip to center tr of next shell, work 5 tr in that tr, ch 2, skip next ch and next tr, 1 sc in first tr of next shell, ch 2, 5 tr in center tr of shell, ch 2, 1 sc in last tr of shell, ch 2, 5 tr in center tr of next shell, ch 2,
skip next tr and ch, 1 sc in next tr, skip next 3 tr, 5 tr in last tr of row. Fasten off Lt. Raspberry, weave in tail.

Side #2-
Join Lt. Raspberry to opposite side of scarflet.
Row 1- Ch 4, 1 tr in each tr across. (21 tr) Ch 4, turn.
Row 2- 1 tr in each tr across. (21 tr) Ch 4, turn.  (These 2 rows correpond to the two rows of keyhole on opposite side.)
Lace-
Rep all rows as for lace on Side #1.
Fasten off, weave in tails.
Done!

I did good until I got to Row 4. I made my own pattern from here on, but it is not as pretty.

Hi +Deborah Icenhour, I am sorry that you had problems with Evalisse. You say that you stop doing good on Row 4. Deborah, are you a new crocheter? The first 23 rows are worked in treble stitches. To make a treble stitch, wrap the yarn around the hook twice, insert hook into the corresponding chain or stitch and pull up a loop, you have 4 loops on hook, yarn over and through two loops, yarn over, and through last 2 loops.
