This is a relatively easy and lovely cowl with an unusual style, very feminine and in a delicate shade of green. Light, yet warm enough for those chilly days of early spring! When done, you can leave it as is or add the flirty bow to the center. Enjoy!
Materials-
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Honeydew (1 skein)
Crochet hook size H
Scissors
Blunt needle
Back of Cowl-
With Honeydew and H hook, ch 84.
Row 1- Work 3 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, *skip 2 chs, work 3 hdc in next ch; rep from *to last chain. Ch 2, turn.
Row 2- Skip first hdc, 3 hdc in next hdc (which is the center hdc of first hdc group), skip 2 hdc; rep from *across, 1 hdc in top of turning ch. Ch 2, turn.
Rows 3 to 12- Rep row 2. Fasten off, weave in tail.
Front of Cowl-
Row 1- Rejoin yarn on narrow edge of cowl and work 41 sc across both hanging pieces of the cowl, effectively joining the two vertical pieces. Ch 3, turn.
Row 2- Skip 2 sc, work 6 dc in next sc, [skip 3 sc, work 5 dc in next sc,] rep 4 times, skip the next 5 sc, make 5 dc in next sc, [skip 3 sc, work 5 dc in next sc,] rep 3 times, 1 sc in top of turning ch. Ch 3, turn.
Row 3- Skip first 2 dc of first shell, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc, ch 1, 1 dc in next dc, skip rest of shell (3-dc shell made), *3-dc shell in 3rd dc of next shell, rep from * across, 1 dc in top of turning ch. Ch 3, turn.
Row 4- Work 5 dc in center dc of 3-dc shell, rep across, 1 dc in top of turning ch. Ch 3, turn.
Row 5- Rep row 3. Ch 3, turn.
Row 6- Rep row 4. Fasten off, weave in tails.
You can leave the cowl as is or add this cute Bow:
Bow-
With Honeydew and H hook, ch 12.
Row 1- Work 1 hdc in third ch from hook and in each ch across. (10 sts, counting first ch 2 as a stitch) Ch 2, turn.
Row 2- 1 hdc in each st across and in top of turning ch. (10 sts) ch 2, turn.
Row 3- Rep row 2. Fasten off, leaving long tail to wrap around middle of Bow and to tack Bow onto cowl.
Wrap yarn 15 times around center of Bow. Thread blunt needle with what is left of yarn and sew Bow on center of Cowl as seen in photos.
