This short keyhole scarf is very simple and works up really fast and because of the variegated color of the yarn, it just looks absolutely fabulous. It is an ideal quick project for a gift, it is also wonderful for charity. Enjoy!
Materials-
Red Heart worsted weight yarn Cherrycola (only 1 skein) (You can substitute any worsted weight variegated of your liking)
Blunt needle
Crochet hook size H
Scissors
Ch 25
Row 1- 1 treble crochet stitch in 5th ch from hook and in each ch across. (22 sts) Ch 4 (counts as first st of next row throughout), turn.
Row 2- 1 tr in each st across. (22 sts) Ch 4, turn.
Rows 3 to 24- 1 tr in each st across. (22 sts) Ch 4, turn.
Row 25- 1 tr in each of next 5 sts, ch 10, skip 10 sts, 1 tr in each stitch till end of row. (keyhole started) (22 sts)
Row 26- 1 tr in each stitch and in each chain across. (Keyhole completed) (22 sts) Ch 5, turn (counts as 1 tr + ch 1 for next row)
Lace End-
Row 1- Skip next st, *1 tr, ch 1, skip 1 st, rep across. Ch 5, turn.
Rows 2 to 8- Rep row 1. Ch 3, turn.
Shell Edging-
Row 1-Work 5 dc in same spot as ch 3, skip 3 sts, 1 sc in next st, skip 2 sts, 6 dc in next st, skip 2 sts, 1 sc in next st, 6 dc in next st, skip 2 sts, 1 sc in next st, skip 2 sts, 6 dc in last st of row. Fasten off and weave in tail.
Opposite Side of Scarf-
Join yarn to first tr of opposite end of scar and repeat Lace End and Shell Edging. Fasten off, weave in tails.
